Whistler Community Band Concert on Friday

The Whistler Community Band is giving their very first concert this Friday evening at 7 pm at Millennium Place.  The concert is suitable for all ages and we encourage everyone to consider coming.  Tickets are $10/adult & $5/child and are available from the box office at Millennium Place.

This is the band’s third year of playing together and members are a mixed group.  Our youngest is in Grade 8 at the high school and our oldest is in his/her 60s.  The only requirement to join the band is that you can already play your instrument.  The music is varied – some classical, some jazz, some movie themes & popular tunes.

Our hope is that, as the band grows, we will eventually be able to offer a beginning band program for children and youth in the community.   Please think about coming – the band would really appreciate your support.

Whistler Singers present Winterlight

Join us at 7:30 pm tonight at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church for the annual holiday concert by Whistler’s adult community choir – the Whistler Singers. From sing-a-long carols for everyone to sing to songs of the winter season sung by the choir, there’s music for all to enjoy. And that’s not all – guest percussionist Lauri Lyster will accompany the choir for a number of selections as well as a solo performance. Admission to the concert is by donation and everyone is welcome to come and join in celebrating the holiday season.
