Registration now open for 2014 / 2015 season

Welcome to another year of singing and fun!

Registration is now open for the Whistler Childrenâ€™s Chorus. Rehearsals continue to be held on Tuesdays but now at a later time and different location. The Whistler Arts Council staff have welcomed us with open arms to Millennium Place. This centrally-located venue will make participation more accessible for all children in our community. Junior Choir will rehearse from 4 to 5 pm and Intermediate Choir from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. This includes a rehearsal time of both choirs together from 4:30 to 5 pm.Â We’ve got some great concerts planned with fabulous music so warm up your vocal chords!

Singers aged 13 years and older are welcome to join the Whistler Singers â€“ our community choir for youth and adults.

Thank you to everyone who came out this evening to share the holiday spirit with members of the Whistler Children’s Chorus, Whistler Singers, Whistler Community Band, Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, and Whistler Waldorf School as we caroled through Whistler Village and then held a Holiday Sing-Along at Millennium Place.

A big thank you to the Whistler Arts Council and staff who provided the venue and made this event possible.

Whistler Community Band Concert on Friday

The Whistler Community Band is giving their very first concert this Friday evening at 7 pm at Millennium Place.Â The concert is suitable for all ages and we encourage everyone to consider coming. Â Tickets are $10/adult & $5/child and are available from the box office at Millennium Place.

This is the band’s third year of playing together and members are a mixed group.Â Our youngest is in Grade 8Â at the high school and our oldest is in his/her 60s.Â The only requirement to join the band is that you can already play your instrument.Â The music is varied – some classical, some jazz, some movie themes & popular tunes.

Our hope is that, as the band grows, we will eventually be able to offer a beginning band program for children and youth in the community. Â Please think about coming – the band would really appreciate your support.
